Interview Advice for Teachers (and others)

A student organization from a local university (comprised of teacher majors) invited me to present at one of their meetings on the topic of interview strategies. While I've presented on this topic before, I have never presented to teaching majors, so I decided to draw upon the experience of someone who has hired several teachers in an attempt to strengthen the content of my presentation. Here are two questions and answers:

Q: What is one thing that you always look for when hiring a teacher?

A: The number one thing I look for when hiring is passion. You can see the spark in someone through the interview process.

Q: What is one piece of advice you would give to graduates interviewing for teaching positions?

A: My advice I call the three B's: Be Prepared, Be professional, Be yourself.
