- Prepare for a telephone interview as you would a one-on-one interview (be sure to research the company)
- Be in a quiet room where there will be no interruptions (barking dog, small children, etc.)
- It's best to use a land line versus a cell phone to ensure there will be no "cutting out"
- Review your resume before your interview and have a copy in front of you
- Write down some key accomplishments from past positions which could benefit them in the position for which you are applying
- Be sure to ask them a few questions (What is your next step in this selection process?)
- Do not bring up salary/benefits unless they do first
- Have a pen/paper ready to take any notes
