What hiring advice did a principal give to new teachers?

While preparing for a presentation to college students pursuing a teaching degree, I decided to conduct some research and ask a local principal if he had any advice for soon-to-be grads. Here was his response:

Q: What is one piece of advice you would give to new grads interviewing for teaching positions? 

A: My advice I call the three Bs: Be prepared, Be professional, Be yourself.

Q: What is one thing that you always look for when hiring a teacher?
A. The number one thing I look for when hiring a teacher is passion. You can see the spark in someone through the hiring process.
