After the Job Fair ... A Tip to Set You Apart

Here's a tip that will set you apart from others. During a job fair collect business cards from company representatives. Jot a little note on the back about something specific you discussed; something that is unique to you. For example, maybe you had an internship experience (or other work experience) that relates directly to the position/company. Maybe you attended the same college as the individual with whom you were talking. Then, after the job fair follow up with a thank you note and mention the specific subject you discussed. Hopefully, mentioning something more specific in the thank you will help the recipient remember you more, and this will set you apart from the competition!
